Up for a good deal on ebay, I did some more research, went to REI and Weight and what I thought were a great set of features combining features from others I liked. The Dash quickly made the top of my list when it came out because of its none of them were really clicking for me. I had the chance to try some nice tents, ultralight and not so, big and small and. Spur UL 2, Fly Creek, HubbaHubba then the NX, Supermega UL 2 and others, all of which have really niceįeatures, was a blast (working in a high-end gear shack has it's perks). Researching ultralight tents like the Copper I'd been wanting a nice 2p tent to use when I'm with my girlfriend. REI says the Dash 2 is the lightest tent they've ever sold. The stake bag here has stakes & footprint in it. The rest can pack tight 6 x 3 x 14 for tent & fly. Packed size listed: 6 x 20 in (15 x 51 cm) Verified at 6 x 18ĭash 2 poles are 18" long. Width listed, foot/head: 42/54 in (107/137 cm)įloor space listed (tent & vestibules): 40.5 sq ft (3.76 sq m) So even though its heavier, it does everything the lighter pads do AND works as a sleep pad.Packaged weight listed: 2 lb 7 oz (1.33 kg) with tent,įly and poles this is dead-on accurate, but.Īctual weight: With footprint and stakes (which you will need) and stuffsacks, it comes in at 3 lb. The thicker 3-fold torso pad was a fine sleeping pad, provided useable padding and support, and wasnt any sweatier than the sit pads. The 1/8” pad (folded up) was still too soft to provide much stiffness or padding although with a kumo/murmur you dont really need much support/padding, but also the 1/8” pad, being so thin, was no help at night And its just a sit pad - no help at night Zpacks sit pad was too small and too flimsy to provide much support, though kumo/murmur dont really warrant needing support. Using a Kumo and a Murmur, ive tried their regular sit pad, the air pad, their three-fold torso pad, their 1/8” full length pad (folded up) and Zpacks sit padįor me, hiking in the humid midwest, there wasnt enough difference between the regular sit pad and the air pad to notice, also, the air pad is heavier than the sit pad, and either one is just a sit pad - not very useful at night r/Hammocks, /r/HammockCamping, and /r/ULHammocking Trail Specific Subs /r/PacificCrestTrail /r/AppalachianTrail /r/CDT /r/JMT Related Subsįor buying, selling, and trading ultralight backpacking gear.
